Statement of Faith

The doctrinal beliefs that anchor Cross Life School of Divinity — rooted in the authority of Scripture, centered on Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Cross Life School of Divinity is a Spirit-led, biblically grounded institution. We hold to the historic truths of the Christian faith while embracing the present-day work of the Holy Spirit. This statement expresses the core convictions that shape our curriculum, community, and ministry.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." — 2 Timothy 3:16

The Holy Scriptures

2 Timothy 3:16-17

We believe the Bible — both the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority for faith, doctrine, and conduct, sufficient for every good work and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness.

The One True God

Deuteronomy 6:4 · Matthew 28:19

We believe in one eternal, holy, sovereign God who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — three co-equal, co-eternal persons united in one Godhead. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinite in power, wisdom, and love.

The Lord Jesus Christ

John 1:1,14 · Philippians 2:5-11

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, was buried, rose bodily on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8 · 1 Corinthians 12

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells, regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers every believer. He bestows spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church, baptizes believers into the body of Christ, and fills those who yield to Him for holy living, bold witness, and effective ministry.

Humanity, Sin & Salvation

Romans 3:23 · Ephesians 2:8-9

We believe all people are created in the image of God yet have fallen through willful disobedience, bringing sin and death upon all. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — not by works. Repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to be forgiven, born again, and reconciled to God.

Sanctification & Holy Living

1 Peter 1:15-16 · Romans 12:1-2

We believe believers are called to a life of holiness, separated from the world and consecrated to God. Sanctification is both a completed work in Christ and a progressive work of the Holy Spirit, conforming us daily to the image of Christ as we walk in obedience, prayer, and the Word.

The Church

Ephesians 1:22-23 · 4:11-13

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all born-again believers worldwide and expressed in local congregations. Christ gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry, build up the body, and advance His kingdom on earth.

Ordinances of the Church

Matthew 28:19 · 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

We observe two ordinances instituted by Christ: water baptism by immersion as a public declaration of identification with His death, burial, and resurrection; and the Lord's Supper (Communion) as a remembrance of His sacrifice until He returns.

The Baptism & Gifts of the Spirit

Acts 2:4 · 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience available to every believer, accompanied by the manifestation of spiritual gifts — including prophecy, healing, tongues, wisdom, and discernment — distributed by the Spirit as He wills for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:18-20 · Mark 16:15

We believe the Church is commissioned by Christ to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to observe all that He commanded. Evangelism, missions, and Spirit-empowered witness are the joyful privilege and responsibility of every believer.

Marriage & Family

Genesis 2:24 · Ephesians 5:31-32

We believe marriage is a covenant ordained by God between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ's love for His Church. The family is the foundational unit of society and the primary context for discipleship, where faith is taught and lived from one generation to the next.

The Return of Christ & Final Judgment

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 · Revelation 20:11-15

We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ. The dead will be raised, and all will stand before the judgment seat of God. Those in Christ will enter eternal life and glory; those who have rejected Him will face eternal separation from God. We look forward to the new heaven and new earth, where God dwells with His people forever.

Our Heart in Summary

We affirm the authority of God's Word, the lordship of Jesus Christ, and the present-day power of the Holy Spirit. We are committed to equipping Spirit-led leaders who rightly divide the Word of Truth and faithfully proclaim the gospel to every nation.
